PINK SHIRT DAY
February 16, 2022 is Pink Shirt Day in Saskatchewan. The nationally recognized Pink Shirt Day usually occurs on the last Wednesday of February every year; however, this year, that date falls during the Family Week break. As such, the Ministry of Education has declared Wednesday, February 16, 2022 as Pink Shirt Day in Saskatchewan.
The origin dates back to a small Canadian town. This was one small, but significant act to support a fellow student.
The idea comes from two incredible Nova Scotia high school students in 2007. When a fellow student was being bullied for wearing a pink shirt, they decided to take a stand. They went out and bought pink shirts to give to fellow students to show their support for a boy who was being bullied simply for wearing a pink shirt.

The focus for 2022 is "lift each other up." Pink Shirt Day reminds us to we need to work together to eliminate bullying. We need to respect each other, and practice kindness, instead of tearing each other down.
As we continue to work together in our school communities, we will stamp out bullying all together one day. It is the work of the students, staff, parents and entire school community that will make a positive difference to bring an end to bullying.
Together… We Can Make a Difference!
